Good News!

The official word is that Josiah and Alana's PDA (artery in the heart) has completely closed! Alexa's is still a bit open, but the head doc said that it is so small and there is no backflow or wrong flow of blood. Therefore, he wants to just wait and monitor it for now. Yeh! That means that they are not recommending heart surgery at this time! That is a huge relief! We were very scared of our 2 pd. preemie having to have heart surgery. So, we are incredibly thankful that we don't have to make a decision on that right now. There is still a chance that it could close on its own (which is what we are continuing to pray for) or it may just stay "insignificant". They are going to monitor it closely and if it happens to get worse or bigger than we may need to talk more about surgery. So, keep those prayers coming! No no no surgery!!!
They are all continuing to do well. We are realizing that we need to just take it one day at a time. Each day is scary in that new possible problems and concerns can arise. We are realizing what it means to be parents. It's hard to explain, but we have an overwhelming desire to protect them and to keep them safe. It's painful to not be able to do anything to help them, but we continue to look towards God whose got all 3 of these little munchkins in the palm of His hand. And He says, "Do not fear!" So, we are trusting Him to keep carrying these three and to see them and us through this difficult and yet joyful time...
The top two pictures are Eric getting some "kangaroo" time with Alexa. The bottom picture is Alana sleeping on her tummy looking like a little elf with her big hat on.
